I'm 6'3, and 261 pounds.
Realistically, I need around 2500-2600 Calories a day to maintain my body weight, this includes the fact that I enjoy doing things like practicing boxing, lifting weights, doing push ups and sit ups, and walking.
Now, let's go over what I ate today. From start to finish...I was actually surprised how easy it was to enjoy myself, while not going over my limit for carbohydrates. And how much limiting that carbohydrate intake and replacing it with good, hearty meals with protein, kept me from wanting to snack.
Today I started off strong, only because I haven't actually been able to enjoy bacon in so long, this won't be a regular thing, but I figured hey, go all in!
3 Eggs, Fried in Butter
2 Pieces of Applewood Smoked Bacon
A glass of 1% Milk
I pretty much attacked the barnyard here with what I did for breakfast, where I'd usually been eating a bunch of fruit, juice, and oatmeal or something loaded with honey and peanut butter to make it ...well...edible. I enjoyed not only eating, but making a good, home-made breakfast, and what a staple to go with! I went all the way to lunch feeling energetic, happy, and eager. The best part? My breakfast was surprisingly low calorie for what it is.
For lunch I was feeling a bit "au-natural", and decided to for a tasty salad with some lightly applied ranch dressing, and yeah - I'll admit it, a sprinkling of shredded cheese. Sue me.
I also enjoyed one of those damn Yogurt things I've heard about, this is actually where a good chunk of my carbs today came from, if you can believe it. A blackberry Yoplait yogurt packed in an interesting 19g of carbohydrates, the salad? 2g.
I did not snack today, my wife came home at around 5:30 or so and I decided to make steak tonight, we had some absolutely wonderful 8 oz New York Strips, which yes, I admit, I cooked in butter instead of olive oil, I wanted to try something different. I also pan-fried some potatoes in olive oil - because the oven is apparently on the fritz, getting on that tomorrow. I can't bake fish without an oven. Or bake anything else, really. Regardless, I only ate the equivalent of about one potato. I washed this down with a delicious glass of home-made iced tea, which I sweetened with Splenda instead of the usual cup and a half of sugar that goes into the stuff.
All in all, I had a bunch of fat today, very low carb intake, (Under 100, if you can believe it), and guess how my calorie count wound up being? Guess...
Roughly 2150 calories. That's right, I'm actually 350 calories below what I'm "Supposed" to be eating to maintain weight. Honestly, all I did was eat what I consider "Good food" in moderation, it's nothing too special.
Tomorrow for breakfast, I think I'll skimp on the bacon, but eggs? You bet your last dollar I'm eatin' eggs.
Here's to a fantastic remaining 59 days.
