Tomorrow, it begins...

I only say tomorrow, because I think I pretty much missed my chance to grab groceries tonight.

I am Liam. I'm 25 years old, and I am overweight. I used to weigh a whopping 512 pounds. If you can believe that - and even at my height of 6'3, that's quite an accomplishment. I had to eat a lot of crap to get to that kind of girth! Well, I lost it, I lost it the only way I knew how, exercise, and eating less garbage.

I achieved an end weight of around 180 pounds. I was miserable, I was depressed all the time, tired, weak...I couldn't even lift heavy things at my construction job, which by the way - is pretty much based on lifting heavy things.  So needless to say...I felt crappy, and reverted back to old habits, I started snacking.

I ate the usual stuff, potato chips, Fritos, snack cakes, all that stuff...and being that I come from a fairly Southern-rich background a good amount of cakes and pies, and cookies....yup.

Now it's almost 2 years after all that initial weight loss, I'm married now, and as of this weeks doctor's appointment, I am now up to 261 pounds. I can't let this happen friends, no way. So I'm going to do the unthinkable.

I'm going to stop trying to eat all of this so called "Healthy" food.

I've been eating all sorts of whole grain snacks, whole grain breads, whole grain pasta, whole grain pizza crusts, whole grain this, whole grain that. While avoiding the "dangers" of "evil, nasty" foods like whole milk, well marbled red meat, eggs, cheese, and even butter. Oh God, I miss butter.

Well friends, for the next 60 days I'm going to document my journey through what I'm going to call "The Man Diet". I'm going to eat meat, butter, cheese, milk, for my meals...I'm going to avoid eating more than around 100 carbs a day, a good chunk of which will be made up of vegetables and fruits. I'm going to prepare my cooked meals in butter, vegetable, or coconut oil, etc. And I'm tossing out the butter substitute ladies and gents, I'm gonna go grab myself a nice, heaping helping of delicious, dairy tastic butter.

I'm also going to stick to a rigid and regular exercise routine, I will walk with a little jogging mixed in every night, save Sunday. (I like being lazy on Sunday...bite me), I'm going to lift weights at home, or at the gym here on base. I'll skip out on the treadmills and stuff, in exchange for some awesome, good old fresh air.

This is the beginning folks, I don't plan on stopping once I start. So if you wanna come along for the ride, you're more than welcome.

Here's to bacon and eggs for breakfast, folks.
